The last will & testament of Elizabeth Doud widdow of Guilford in ye county of New Haven of the colony of Conecticutt as followeth;

I being Crazie and weakelye in body & alsoe striken in yeares, yet in full injoymt of mind & memory, blessed by god: Doe bequeath & give my soule to god in our Lord Jesus Christ yt gave it mee & my body to be decently buried in the dust: And seeing the lord hath given me some little portion of worldly goods or estate, I therefore thinke it my Duty, to give & bestow as followeth after my decease -

Imprimis I give to Jacob Dowd my son the whole of the homelott with orchards & all buildings yt are upon it, except a small stable which my son John hath lately new built, which homelott containes as the apprismt saith in my late husbands inventory three acres -

2 I give to my three daughters, Mary Hughs & Rebeckah Evatts, & Sarah Bowers all my wearing cloathes which I doe leave at my decease to be divided to them proportionably.

3 I give to my son Thomas Dowd three acres of meadow land in ye East river quarter, & seven pound yt he already hath ye improvemt of, yt is ye seven pound.

4 I also give to my son John Dowd all my right of 3d division land being about eight acres & three quarters, & one acre of meadow land in ye East river quarter, & alsoe a flock bed wch he hath ye improvemt of already wth twenty shillings I have already payd to mr Richard Bryan of Milford for John Dowd.---

All the rest of my estate in cattle of one sort or another with all the moveable goods yt are not already disposed of in this my last Will & testamt I doe give them to my two sons Thomas Dowd & John Dowd to be equally divided between them, they two allowing out of them ten shillings apiece to my three daughters Mary Hughs, Rebecka Evatts, and Sarah Bowers: I alsoe give to my son John Dowd ye stable which he built on my homelott if hee will remove it----

Lastly I do make my son Jacob Dowd Executor & administrator of this my last Will & testamt, to see yt it be fully attended, according to this my Will, & to see to the paying of debts yt may be due, which each of my two sons Thomas & John shall pay out of ye moveable estate, proportionally to what they doe enjoy of my estate, & to reckon & receive all just Dues, & also whatsoever is necessary respecting this my last Will & testamt: I alsoe desire Jacob Dowd my Executor to take ye help of my loving friends Lt Wm Southard & Wm Johnson on any thing yt may bee needfull in the transaction of this affaire. Accordingly I doe set to my hand this 3d of march 1679/80:
